The "Imperfect Sex Is Not the End of the World" Challenge
As per my previous post, I present the "Imperfect Sex Is Not the End of the World" challenge.
Why write people as less than "perfect" when as a writer you have the option of making things better than real life? Why write people with preferences and quirks? Because it's interesting, of course.
Your Mission
I want to see guys who don't like anal sex, who don't like blowjobs, who are bad kissers, bad fuckers, give the worst head ever. I want to see guys who freeze up at the idea of anyone going near their ass, especially with a tongue-omg-what-do-you-think-you're-doing!? I want to see guys and girls who don't have the most sensitive nipples evah and are just like whatevs when someone goes to town on them. I want to see girls who don't like oral. I want to see girls who can't have multiple orgasms. I want to see people unable to come or coming too soon. I want to see miscommunication and mistaken assumptions. I want to see couples who can't fulfill each other's every need, whose kinks, sex drives, and/or preferences don't match up.
I want to see all this and more. And it can still have a happy ending because these things are not the end of the world. Show me how they work it out. Show me the compromises they make, or how it goes better the second try.
Also, as suggested by the eminently sensible
darthhellokitty, the only thing I ask is that any problems encountered not be because of some past Trauma that must be healed by the almighty cock (or equivalent in girlslash). If X doesn't like getting fucked, maybe it's just because he doesn't like getting fucked and never will. You know?
And hey, it's coming up on Valentine's Day, so if you want to use that as a theme, even better. :D
The Details
This challenge is open to all fandoms, including RPF (hell, you can even write original fic if you want). It's open to both slash (m/m and f/f) and het. Stories can be humorous or serious or a little of both. They can be as long or as short as you want. You can write as many fics as you want.
Posting starts now and will run until the end of the month. Post in your journal and link here when you've done so. On February 28th, I will compile the links and post a master list.
There's no need to comment and sign up, though you can if you want to, as I'm certainly keen to see how many people are interested. :)
Please pimp this far and wide!
ETA: The master list is here.
