I've been feeling pretty good today. No stomach problems, but I've had a headache most of the day. Advil hasn't been much help. I suspect it's partly from being sick and partly caffiene withdrawal from not drinking any yesterday. I'm down to only two Diet Pepsis a day, but I guess skipping them altogether does still affect me.
On Saturday Bruce cleaned off the dining room table a bit (aka his PC desk) and decided he wants it to go back to being a table. What we're going to do is get rid of the TV and its stand in the living room and put a small computer desk in its place. We have not used that TV at all in the last year, so really it's just taking up space.
It's a bit bigger than the one in the bedroom (25" instead of 20", I think), but the one in the bedroom is a much better TV, so we're keeping that one. It's a Sony that I got for my 18th birthday. It's lasted beautifully whereas the one in the living room is some cheapo TV that Bruce bought not long after he moved out here and within the first year it developed a large discolored patch in the upper left corner. Because of that, I don't think we could really get any money for it if we tried to sell it, so we'll probably just donate it to the thrift store. My mom is taking the stand to their house. It's hers and it's nice, actual wood, cost $300ish ten years or so ago.
We went to Staples today to look at desks and they had one that's just perfect. Not too deep, so it won't stand out a whole lot from the wall, and it's got space under it for your legs (a lot of these small ones don't), a shelf for the PC on the side, and an elevated spot for the monitor. It was only $80, too, which is about as much as I want to pay for a desk right now. We also bought a plastic mat for the floor, because my mom will bitch if we scratch the floor with a desk chair (I kept meaning to buy a mat for the dining room anyway and never got around to it).
After that we headed over to Best Buy because Bruce wanted to look at capture cards for his PC. I used to have an incredibly crappy one for my old PC, but he's looking for something actually nice. There's this Japanese drama he likes called Overtime which has not been released on DVD. He wanted to see it again, so we rented it on Friday, but what with me being sick and all, he didn't really have time to watch it much this weekend and it was due tonight.
So he thought, well, why not get a capture card and import it to the PC so he could burn DVDs of it. There are some other things we've been wanting to get off of VHS tapes, so this will be useful in the future, too. We got a nice one for $70 with a $20 rebate, so not too bad a price. Especially considering the extremely craptacular one I used to have was $50, too (of course that was five or so years ago that I bought it).
Anyway, have yet to put the desk together, but I did clean up the area around the TV. There were stacks of unlabelled VHS tapes that needed Bruce's going through, and he did do some today and threw away about 15-20, so I was happy about that. I'll probably put the desk together tomorrow.
I'm immensely pleased with

In related news, Bruce sent me this link, which has fifty different YSI-type file storage sites, most of which are hopefully not as sucky as megaupload.
I have a not-resolutions + reflections on 2005 post as well, but it was getting so long, I decided to make it separate.
