Finally finished this film tonight. I've been working on it most of the month, which is ages, considering it usually takes me a week and a half at most. But there were holidays and stuff and then just as I was getting finished, I got sick. >_< Bah. Done now, though. Will do some Power Rangers tomorrow (or today, rather, I suppose) and then start the next film Tuesday.

I've been feeling pretty good today. No stomach problems, but I've had a headache most of the day. Advil hasn't been much help. I suspect it's partly from being sick and partly caffiene withdrawal from not drinking any yesterday. I'm down to only two Diet Pepsis a day, but I guess skipping them altogether does still affect me.

On Saturday Bruce cleaned off the dining room table a bit (aka his PC desk) and decided he wants it to go back to being a table. What we're going to do is get rid of the TV and its stand in the living room and put a small computer desk in its place. We have not used that TV at all in the last year, so really it's just taking up space.

It's a bit bigger than the one in the bedroom (25" instead of 20", I think), but the one in the bedroom is a much better TV, so we're keeping that one. It's a Sony that I got for my 18th birthday. It's lasted beautifully whereas the one in the living room is some cheapo TV that Bruce bought not long after he moved out here and within the first year it developed a large discolored patch in the upper left corner. Because of that, I don't think we could really get any money for it if we tried to sell it, so we'll probably just donate it to the thrift store. My mom is taking the stand to their house. It's hers and it's nice, actual wood, cost $300ish ten years or so ago.

We went to Staples today to look at desks and they had one that's just perfect. Not too deep, so it won't stand out a whole lot from the wall, and it's got space under it for your legs (a lot of these small ones don't), a shelf for the PC on the side, and an elevated spot for the monitor. It was only $80, too, which is about as much as I want to pay for a desk right now. We also bought a plastic mat for the floor, because my mom will bitch if we scratch the floor with a desk chair (I kept meaning to buy a mat for the dining room anyway and never got around to it).

After that we headed over to Best Buy because Bruce wanted to look at capture cards for his PC. I used to have an incredibly crappy one for my old PC, but he's looking for something actually nice. There's this Japanese drama he likes called Overtime which has not been released on DVD. He wanted to see it again, so we rented it on Friday, but what with me being sick and all, he didn't really have time to watch it much this weekend and it was due tonight.

So he thought, well, why not get a capture card and import it to the PC so he could burn DVDs of it. There are some other things we've been wanting to get off of VHS tapes, so this will be useful in the future, too. We got a nice one for $70 with a $20 rebate, so not too bad a price. Especially considering the extremely craptacular one I used to have was $50, too (of course that was five or so years ago that I bought it).

Anyway, have yet to put the desk together, but I did clean up the area around the TV. There were stacks of unlabelled VHS tapes that needed Bruce's going through, and he did do some today and threw away about 15-20, so I was happy about that. I'll probably put the desk together tomorrow.

I'm immensely pleased with [info]garagesalejapan. I crossposted to there and [info]fandomyardsale with all my jpop stuff I was selling and sold a good chunk of it. I have some more stuff to get up there, along with some non Japanese stuff to go on [info]fandomyardsale including all these art supplies. I really hope some people will want those.

On [info]jpop_uploads someone uploaded forty some videos that were released the past year, most of which I didn't have. Unfortunately they're all on megaupload, which is slow and you can only get one at a time, but I'm slowly getting there... ^_^;; Also have a bunch of others that need to be sorted and added to my list, so maybe 100 more total including these I'm downloading today...

In related news, Bruce sent me this link, which has fifty different YSI-type file storage sites, most of which are hopefully not as sucky as megaupload.

I have a not-resolutions + reflections on 2005 post as well, but it was getting so long, I decided to make it separate.

Gross & annoying

Gross (yet funny & kinda cool in that yes, sometimes I am a ten-year-old boy sort of way)

When I threw up Saturday, I just grabbed the little trashcan by the bed, which already had a bunch of Kleenex and trash in it. Because Bruce has a weak stomach and can't clean up stuff like that without getting sick himself, he just put it outside in the back with its lid on (it has one of those swinging lid things). Anyway, so this little trashcan full of now-vomit-soaked tissues and papers sitting in a further pool of vomit, as most of what I threw up was liquid was just sitting out there all day and night. At some point a possum came along and ate a bunch of the Kleenex and drank the throw up! Bruce told me about it Sunday morning and I totally went out and looked, cause dude. Since it was raining, I didn't clean it up today either, and last night he (they?) came back and ate some more.

In conclusion, possums rock.

Annoying

I think we have more than one wily mouse. The only other option is that we have some sort of superhuman (superrodent?) mouse that is completely immune to poison and just eats it up like candy. Three blocks of poison have been chowed down upon as of this point in time and there is fresh mouse shit behind the washing machine. I have three blocks left, I think. Maybe four. If that doesn't do them in, I don't know what to do. Aaaaargh.

In conclusion, mice suck ass and omg why will they not go away!?
